Directions
Blend the yeast in the hand-hot water. Add the oil, salt and flour. Knead the dough well. Place a clean, damp tea towel over the bowl and leave to rise in a warm place for 30 mins.
Finely chop the onion and garlic, and cut the peperoni into small pieces.
Roll the dough out into a large rectangle approx. 20 x 30 cm., and spread the tomato sauce over with a knife. Top with onion, garlic and peperoni, and sprinkle with cheese. Roll the dough into a long sausage and then cut into 1 1/2 cm. thick slices.
Preheat the oven to 200º C/fan oven 180º C.
Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the pizza whirls on the tray, pressing them lightly to flatten them slightly. Sprinkle with oregano. Bake the pizza whirls for 10-12 mins.
Tip
The recipe can be halved, or why not freeze half of the pizza whirls?
